I was born and raised near Lethbridge, in Southern Alberta. Later I took my training in Education at the University of Calgary. After graduation, I taught and was a school principal for a number of years around Calgary. When I moved to Red Deer, I was an assistant principal at Bentley and Lacombe, and then as principal at Clive. I retired from teaching in 1994 and then spent 13 ½ years working for Totem Building Supplies in Red Deer.
I was appointed a Marriage Commissioner in 1997 and have performed hundreds of weddings since that time.
As much as the distance and time permits, I enjoy spending time with my two daughters and their husbands, three grandchildren, and three great grandsons. I have enjoyed travelling to Mexico, Hawaii, Dominican Republic, England, Scotland, Ireland, a cruise in the Caribbean, and Eastern Canada.
For recreation, I do enjoy golfing, curling, bicycling, dancing and a good walk. I am interested in woodworking and in looking after my yard and home. I am active in my church and have enjoyed serving on several committees and in various activities. As a member of the Red Deer Chapter of Barbershop Chorus, the Wild Rose Harmonizers, I have had the opportunity and pleasure of performing at concerts, annual competitions, many ‘sing-outs’ at senior’s lodges, nursing homes, hospitals, elementary schools, the Red Deer Hospice, and for many public and private functions. It is always a pleasure and an honour to be a part of a couples’ wedding ceremony and to share this special day with them. It is always my intention and hope to make this 'day' a very special and memorable one for each and every couple.
